Jesus, our Great Shepherd, is leading us through our days and our nights. He is the One who truly cares for us and is watching over us for good. He loves us and desires that we stay close to Him. Apart from His guiding presence, we become the prey of evil that lurks on every side.
We cannot make it through life in our own strength; it is way too small. Our Great Shepherd is our Savior and Lord, who has called us to His perfect rest.
Psalm 23 The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. See Also John 10:1-18 and 1 Peter 2:25
Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

"Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture." - Psalms 100:3 NIV
Today, I'm reminded of God's mercy. He understands the bits and pieces of my life right now that is not necessarily a hardship but harder to experience. And I've seen how he relieves those moments for me so that I can endure these parts a lot better.

Love is a verb!
Love is more than a verb.
“Love is a verb”, the bumper sticker on the car that sped past me said. That is true. Love is not just a noun, an abstract feeling that we hold, but love means action. But as the car vanished from my sight, the bumper sticker lingered on in my thoughts for a while. One part of me agreed that love is more than a feeling; but is love only a verb—the act of loving? The bumper sticker is lying or…

Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. Ephesians 4:29
Before you start a conversation, pause for a moment and think, "Is this going to build or break someone?" While it’s much easier to speak first and think later, this almost always ends up in careless and unwise words. Considering our words before we utter them saves us from a lot of heartbreak and bitterness. Kind, encouraging, and uplifting words are always more beneficial than those that do the opposite.
Since I can only apologize but never take back what I speak, it makes sense to carefully consider my words beforehand. Some things are better left unsaid.
Prayer: Merciful God, Let the words of my mouth be pleasing to You and beneficial to others. Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

There is this saying my mom used to say "the mouth speaks of what the heart is full of," and that is true, as emphasized in this passage. It shows us the immense power our words hold, and our responsibility in taking care of what we say, after all words can kill just as easily as they can build people up.
Another key take away of these verses is that the tongue can only be tamed if we are with God. Taming the tongue isn't just about self-discipline, but it's also a reflection of one's relationship with the divine. If we speak of God in church, but with our friends we say foul words, we are practicing hypocrisy.
In essence, the wisdom of James 3:1-12 reminds us that our words are a window to the condition of our hearts so we should take care of what goes in it.
